Modeling Philosophy
Well-made CAD models and drawings can be difficult to come by. We use experienced, degreed and certified engineers to create well thought out CAD modeling services that are designed to help your project or company succeed. CAD models should be able to be later updated with little effort. While no two engineers will ever build a model exactly the same way, our depth of experience ensures that the 3D CAD models that we create for you are built in a logical and relatively easy to update manner.
Drawing Philosophy
Drawings should be laid out in an easy-to-understand format with proper notations and a clean look. To help ensure that our standards are met in our CAD drafting services, we use some of our other internal engineers to perform checking of these drawings. Having the engineer who modeled and laid out the drawing check these could lead to a higher chance of missing the mark. This process trains our staff to layout CAD drawings more carefully knowing that they will also be internally checked by their peers.
GD&T
All of our engineers are certified in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Since each engineer is also trained and gains experience through our ISO certifications inspection service, we have gained practical knowledge in print interpretation and application of good GD&T practices in our modeling and drafting work. Our dimensional layouts go beyond the theoretical into the functional and practical.
Design
Our product design knowledge and ability carry directly over to our CAD modeling service and drawing layout service. We have the ability to easily integrate our customer’s product-specific ideas into their 3D CAD design as well as make significant innovative contributions to the final product. Where our customers have developed deep product and industry knowledge of their products, we use that with good modeling and drafting practices to augment their internal capacities. Multiple CAD Package Options Available
Each of our engineers’ masters one or more CAD package(s) from the several that we use including Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion, Catia, AutoCAD and Revit. This allows us to be flexible in providing specific CAD design and modeling services to our customers that match their own. We strive to help our clients through our various 3D modeling solutions.
Reverse Engineering
Our CAD design and modeling services and drafting services extend into Reverse Engineering projects. Just present us with the sample items and we will scan them in house, create CAD, and develop drawings and tolerances. We will guide you through the reverse engineering process with best practice advice from a long history of 3D CAD successful projects.
Complex Surface Modeling Expertise
Because of our extensive work in Aerospace, Automotive, Electrical and Medical applications, we have developed particular expertise in CAD surface modeling that is unrivaled among other services. Most engineers are not afforded the opportunity to develop their CAD surface modeling skills beyond a preliminary class. However, because of our history and experience, we have developed the ability to quickly and efficiently handle complicated surfacing issues with ease.
Gage And Fixturing
Our CAD modeling and drafting abilities extend into gage and fixture design. Part of our ISO certifications service is involved in checking gages and fixturing created by others to ensure they meet the required specifications. This coupled with our long experience base and excellent knowledge of tolerancing has allowed us to develop gage and fixtures that are robust and easy to use.
Model And Drawing Checking
Do you already have a design and drafting team and just need support checking their work? We also support that work. Often times, the CAD design cycle leaves little time for proper model and drawing checking. Typically, the design manager is left to check the work of multiple staff in addition to their other responsibilities. These tight time frame constraints can lead to higher levels of checking errors which multiply into expensive tooling changes later. Use our staff to temporarily augment your capabilities. We can assign multiple engineers to the checking function and greatly improve your product introduction times!
The same issue can happen with tolerance stacking. A good tolerance stack can take up to 2-4 hours each and a complicated 3D CAD design can require hundreds of stacks. Use our team of qualified engineers to help augment your ability to throughput multiple stacks simultaneously to improve your design cycle.
